Martinism is the name applied to several connected currents of Western Christian esotericism rooted in the teachings of Martinez de Pasqually, Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin and Jean-Baptiste Willermoz. Later initiatory Martinist orders revived aspects of that inheritance
